The husband had then got into an argument with the local men and an assault and a shooting had taken place around 3.00 am today.
The woman has been admitted to Karapitiya Hospital.
At the post-mortem examination, JMO Dr. H.K.K. Wijeweera determined cut injuries as the cause of death, although there is a gunshot wound in his body as well.
He has ruled out a T-56 rifle being used in the shooting, despite the finding of several bullets of that calibre at the murder scene.
