Bomb goes off while being examined at puliyankulam

A bomb went off while being examined, causing injuries to six people at Maniyamadu inPuliyankulam yesterday (Dec. 22).The wounded were admitted to Vavuniya Hospital.


They had found the bomb near Sittaparanthan River and had been trying to open it, when it went off, police said.

Meanwhile, RPG and MPMG ammunition were found in the sand brought by a tipper to the irrigation engineer’s office in Anuradhapura.


A hand grenade was found from a private property atYatawatte.
