VACANCIES AT INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE

The Industrial Technology Institute (ITI) a Statutory Board functioning within the purview of the Ministry of Technology & Research is a Multidisciplinary Research Institute in Sri Lanka dedicated to the promotion of industrial development through R & D, Contract, Consultancy, Training and Technical Services.

The Institute is seeking dynamic, energetic and resourceful candidates for the following posts.  Applications are invited from Citizens of Sri Lanka who possess the necessary qualifications and experience.

1.     SENIOR DEPUTY DIRECTOR – ADMINISTRATION & HUMAN RESOURCES (HM 1-3)

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

A degree in arts, management, law, science or engineering from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission
AND
A Postgraduate Qualification in Human Resources Management or equivalent/ Membership of a Professional Institute related to Human Resources Development
AND
15years experience in Administration and/or Human Resources Development at managerial level after obtaining 1st degree out of  which 04 years should be at senior managerial level.


2.     SENIOR DEPUTY DIRECTOR – MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (HM 1-3)

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

A degree in business management or marketing management from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission
AND
A post graduate (MBA) qualifications in allied sphere relevant to Marketing and Business Management/Development and Membership of the Chartered Institution or Marketing/Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing/Global Marketing Network
AND
15 years experience in the field of marketing and/or business development at managerial level after obtaining 1st degree out of which at least 04 years should be at senior managerial level

Attitude and Aptitude required for Senior Deputy Director Posts:

The job holder must have strong conceptualizing, strategic thinking, communication and analytical skills and be able to remain calm under pressure and crisis situations.  He/She must demonstrate a positive attitude which demonstrates an aggressive determination to achieve goals through team work and discipline and should be able to interact across the board.  He/She must be competent in organizing and leading a team of individuals in an open and honest environment to ensure that targets/deadlines are met.  Integrity and the will to succeed are essential ingredients for the above positions.










3.     RESEARCH SCIENTIST / ENGINEER (AR 1 level)
           
            SECTIONS & RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS

(i)            Bio Technology Unit -Specialized in Bio-Technology or related fields
(ii)           Chemical & Microbiological Laboratory- Specialized in  Chemistry
(iii)          Electro Technology Laboratory-Specialized in Physics/Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering
(iv)         Environment Technology Section- Specialized in Chemical Engineering

            Minimum Qualifications / Experience

BSc Honours Degree (04 years) with 1st or 2nd Class Upper  and specialization in  the relevant field from a University recognized by the University Grant Commission of  Sri Lanka.
                                                OR

BSc Honours Degree(04 years) in science/engineering and a postgraduate degree (by research) with specialization in the relevant field from a University recognized by the University Grant Commission of Sri Lanka/ Corporate Membership of a professional body recognized by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka
           
                                                OR
BSc Degree (03 years) with 1stclass or 2ndClass Upper and postgraduate degree (by research) with specialization in  the relevant field from a University recognized by the University Grant Commission of Sri Lanka.

4.     ACCOUNTANT (MM 1-1)

            Minimum Qualifications/Experience

Intermediate qualifications of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL)
/
Chartered Institute of Management (CIMA)/Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants (ACCA)/Certified Management Accountants (CMA) or Degree in Management or Commerce or higher National Diploma in Accountancy
AND
At least three (03) years post qualifying accounting experience in a Government Corporation or Mercantile Establishment.

Exposure to a computerized accounting environment is a distinct advantage.


5          MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT – (SUPPLIES)  - NON TECHNOLOGICAL CATEGORY
             (MA 1-2 –III)

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

Having passed the G C E (O/L) examination in six subjects with credit passes for four subjects including Sinhala/Tamil, English and Mathematics

AND

Having three subjects (other than the General Paper) at the G C E  (A/L)





6      MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT  -  TECHNOLOGICAL CATEGORY (MA 2-2- III)
POST : TECHNICAL ASSISTANT

 Minimum Qualifications/Experience

G C E (O/L) pass in six subjects in one sitting with credit passes in four subjects    including Sinhala/Tamil, Science, Mathematics and English Language

AND

Having achieved the performance level required to follow a tertiary education course in the Science stream by passing the required number of subjects other than the General Paper at the G C E A/L

AND
Having successfully completed a Diploma or Certificate course not below the N V Q Level 5, conducted by  a recognized Institute of Technological Training

                                                                AND

One (01) year lab experience in an established Institute.

Salary Scales:

Senior Deputy Director           : HM 1-3 - Rs.41745-1100x15-58245/-
Research Scientist/Engineer : AR1- Rs.24725-550x5-645x5-770x15-42250/-
Accountant                               : MM 1-1- Rs.25640-665x03-735x07-925x15-46655/-
Management Assistant           : MA 1-2- Rs.13450-145x10-170x07-290x12-345x12-23710/-
Management Assistant                : MA 2-2 - Rs.14610-145x10-170x07-290x04-345x20-25310/-

Plus Government Approved Allowances

Age :Positions 1 & 2        Should be not less than 35 years and not more than 50 years     
         Position 3, 4, 5&6    Should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years

Other benefits applicable for the above Positions

The selected candidates may be entitled to Performance Based Incentives and other benefits schemes implemented by the Institute.

The Institutes operates its own Provident Fund Scheme towards which the employees
contribute 10% of the gross salary and the Institute 15%.  A further 3% of the salary will be
contributed by the employer to the Employees Trust Fund.
